In these circumstance BPES is an excellent tool that can be used to provide a self assessment of multiple companies often in an environment where learning and sharing of best practice is facilitated. This approach results in the identification of common challenges facing organisations and common strengths. Intervention strategies can then be deployed to improve performance, leading to growth for the region.

BPES has been used with groups of organisations of up to 20 SMEs (with 5 employees and over) to over 50 companies of all sizes. In these cases companies receive a Business Excellence Score report which shows not only how they perform in terms of business excellence but also how they perform in comparison to the other participating organisations.

Whilst BPES is ideal for multiple company assessments Assessor is ideal for business advisors to undertake a brainstorming session at a client company or a quick assessment of an organisation to identify its strengths and opportunities for improvement. It is recommended that all business advisors have an Assessor card pack on hand for exploring issues with clients.
